FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
Continuing the financial performance project introduced in season 30, here are the results from the first half of season 32.
Total Race Income = 264,000
Net Income = 138,458
Total Growth = 3.2%
Most profitable riders: Julius Maaskant, Adrian Dudziak, and Urbanu Arzu
Generally, the first half of season 32 has been very successful. The team has not avoided bad luck having missed several sign ups and received injuries (three of which occurred across only two stages in the Vuelta), but most riders have performed very well. As a consequence, the team has been in the lead of the race ranking for most of the season and continues to be so, currently with 2,406 points for the first 45 days - Jonas Pro Cycling is a close second with 2,330 points, while the 3rd place, surprisingly Gradient Levellers, is at 1,866 points. As such, there is a good margin to most competitors and it might even be possible to finish 1st this season, especially if the climbing team begins collecting points, too.
The success in races and tours has translated into a good profit of 140k, which satisfies the team's goal of making a total profit of 250k per season. No riders have been bought or sold this season, and this continuity suits me very well this season and has probably benefited the team spirit slightly.
EVALUATION OF RIDERS
Now that it's about two seasons ago I started this new project with a new set of riders, it's about time to evaluate the riders bought on the basis of their performance so far.
THE GREAT CASES
Adrian Dudziak has been the most winning rider of the team so far. After winning Bastogne-Hasselt today for the second time in a row, he is at five victories in the 100 days he has been here, three so far this season, and above 1,000 points for the last 90 days. As young and successful as he is, 275k was a great price for him last season.
Julius Maaskant has performed greatly until now. Having earned about 1,000 points and 100k both seasons in the team, he is a consistent performer - in particular this season where he has finished top five all races but two. Bought at 270k, this investment seems to be paying off very well.
Urbano Arzu, one of the very best all-rounders of the game, was bought at RV at the end of last season (and of his career at age 32). He has surprised very positively, finishing 2nd in WC last season and finishing top 6 in all his five races as captain.
THE GOOD CASES
Tapuwa Mathema impressed last season with 880 points, but has had only two shots at races so far this season, with an injury ruling out an additional three chances.
Yens Ingelborgs has taken his few chances out of from the lead-out job and truly excelled; it has given two top-five results in Norwich-London and a victory in Essex last season.
Among lead-outs and team-mates, Yens has been a great asset. So have the two oldies Otto Beier and, based on the great cobbles-results, Gaspar Sarrazin.
THE CLIMBERS AND HILLERS
So far, the performance of the team's climbers and our lead hiller has been disappointing. Folkert Gerrits took his first victory this season and has performed fine overall but disappointingly with off days in Junin and Bergen, two important races. He needs to show his worth as the team's most expensive rider in upcoming races.
The climbing team has been pursued by bad luck since its inception. Over the course of 1½ seasons, there has been three captain injuries which has affected not only the races in which the injuries occured but also subsequent races and sign ups. This is mainly due to the limited size of the team, being squeezed by 16 riders supporting other race types. In addition, the two climbing captains Ståle Thorbjørnsen and Alfred Backe are not state-of-the-art climbers and might need better support or luck to do better. However, my hope is that they will avoid injuries in the future and perform more consistently, bringing in a humble amount of points to support the race for the first place.

With the training feature it has become more profitable. ;-)
None at all - it hasn't really been my priority for a long time.
Any training projects?
